I'm sorry but they butchered Zakuro- She looks so bad in this animation style-.... the old Zakuro was much better and she was THE Zakuro omg............ They could've improved how she looked so much but they decided to not do that- lmao

I don't mind the animation style but I dislike her hair in the transformation design, I'm not sure why they decided to change it to a huge ponytail. And her voice is a bit too deep for my liking, in the original she had a more mature yet feminine voice.

The new designed is from the creators from the 2020 anniversary piece but I do agree that the voice could have been a lot better and the persona of Zakuro's character done better.

Tbh, I think it currently fits in the way that she sounds like a 20 something now and doesn't want to hang out with little kids 🥲🤣🤣🤣

Zakuro s transformation ost was great... now they only change it to ichigo s song... st least they made her sing a rock to make us nostalgic of the old zakuro

The story is definitely starting to feel rushed, which is understandable considering there's only 12 episodes. The characters just don't have the same chemistry, I remember there being a lot more tension in Ryo's scene but now it feels like it was just thrown in there to add more love rivals.

It felt rushed from the start honestly, if you've ever watched the original. I'm kinda fine with it, but also not, though mostly not because it means less character development, but oh well.

But original wasn't following manga.
The episodes that felt like character development were actually fillers.

ROFLMAO, that typo makes the comment even funnier. Though I must say, anyone watching both shoujo and shounen anime would tell you it's nothing new, the shounen MCs always end up like this, sunsets or not, or even have it as their typical, daily look.

Okay time for a real quick overview.
First: I do like the new art designed of Zakuro and with the long pony tail but the whole persona of her from this episode was too force and did not have the same spice as the original anime which as some posted in they're opinion that Zakuro was more mature but still lady elegant where she carried her self but also had her quirks. While her personality in this seems adult like but high in pitch and too over the top.
So far her character is not good compared to the OG anime where she was more mature and brutal while it barley synchs up with the manga.

Second: As for this episode there were a few differences like with the role play audition which was not really in the OG anime and not really in the manga which was chapter 7 or 8. As for what kept in place was Bu-Ling interfering was on point, the cafe moments with Bu-Ling performing on the job and giving Ichigo more issues but that was too much on the childrens cartoonish moments that could have been done less tho INO. The transformation was good and stilled show the sexiness of Zakuro but the fight was too quick but it went in pace rise of the manga which was also quick.

Third: The differences of OG manga + anime to the newer anime and redesigned look.
~Zakuro's mew mew attire is in the OG version is low cut top (same in the newer version.), ~Short pants but in the original attire is just plain purple short pants while newer version has more fabric layer with triangle patterns.
~Shoulder guarders in (og version just plain looking, newer version more fluffy and frilly).
~Wrist scrunchies in original, newer version has triangle patterns tied with wrist bracelet with a heart in the center.
~Fabric neck collor with the pendent from the original, newer version is replace with a big bow ribbon.
~Plain leg scrunchie guarder in original, newer version it's a lace tied version.
~High leg top boots (Nothings change)
~Hair style is long hair with brush side to side in original for both normal form and transformation. Newer version has her with long hair and cut front bangs (transform hair is longer with a pony tail in a hair ribbon.

As for few other scenes Shiragone topless shirt scene wasn't as good as the OG anime and where it was lackluster and cut some content out compared to the OG anime and made it too childish.

Last: Last episode was good but this seem too rushed and not as good and watered down Zakuro. On a other note OG anime took 12 eps to introduce all the girls with filler in between while this will take 5 eps and complete the first 2 volumes of the original manga.

Zakuro's design is so pretty. It was expected that she would refuse to work with them i guess the next episode will be to convince her to join the mew mew team

Pretty much yes on that while in the manga it was a couple of chapters on the whole Zakuro recruitment.

i think i only watched some, not even all, of the few dubbed episodes, but even i know zakuro / rene felt like those sixth ranger type of characters that at first starts standoffish from the team and prefers to go solo for a while until inevitably joining

or, like zox from zenkaiger for example, technically Never joins the team but interacts and works with the team so much, and they are even friends, they feel like "this one doesn't join just because they want to still feel like they are orn their own but truly arent"

In the original it's 52 eps but that had a lot of canon/filers to it while original dub was only 26 and never finish with the 2nd half.
In the original manga it's post to be 33 chapters in all excluding the 2 volume sequel and Zakuro joins the team in chapter 9 in the manga

She does join the team but yeah she does feel like the six ranger.

Zakuro's transformation....has no epic guitar.....i'm so done with this anime 3/10

The most I can understand at the start is that she's saying her heart belongs only to her and I think she's saying that she doesn't believe in anyone and she's her own person? And then something about being the only one in the world who can do something or other? Least that's the most sense I can make of it, the song is too difficult for me. Sorry, but I hope that kinda helps

Edit: After finishing the ep I went to go play around in Google Translate (sometimes it can be useful to get a basic grasp). Anyways, Zakuro says "toribidasu" altho idk what characters she uses so it could mean reach/attain/start, but then I also don't understand what she's doing that for either. Sorry again ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Hope we'll get a better update or something later

Knowing that she's supposed to have that "Lone-wolf" kind of personality, I think it fits. ^w^b

have to say, they totally butchered Zakuro... what was that random musical number? 💀 they downplayed a lot of the characters but this was the most disappointing, and i kind of expected it lol
